Kiteboarding
Learn to kite safely from a P.A.S.A. certified kiteboarding instructor.
All lessons will take place on Siletz Bay of a suitable location on a beach in Lincoln City, Oregon.
Kiteboarding is an amazing sport that allows incredible freedom to ride wherever there is steady wind, be it on land, snow, or water. With huge advances in equipment, kiteboarding is safer than ever to learn.
Trainer to Water Ready Lesson: 2 hr. $120
I will start with the basics of wind direction and recognizing safe vs. unsafe conditions. Then I will let you fly a trainer kite to get the feel for steering the kite and to feel the wind window and power zones.
After mastering the trainer kite you will then fly a small version of a traction kite.
After this lesson, it is recommended that the student fly a trainer on their own and become completely comfortable with kite control.
Water Lesson: 2-2.5 hrs. $200
Before taking this class you should have completed the land lesson. You need to be able to fly the trainer and small four line kite one-handed, with your eyes closed and control the kite in any part of the wind window. We will start in shallow water and practice water re-launches, body drags, board skills, and self-rescue with a kite appropriate for the conditions and rider weight.
While in the water, you will be wearing a radio helmet so I can give instructions easily through the whole process.
All kite equipment is supplied including wetsuit.
